Though I can’t say her milk Ca levels are up, Rosa is showing signs of progress. She didn’t finish her dinner last night – a very odd thing for Rosa – and wax formed on the end of her teats. As is standard issue lately, her tail was a complete mess this morning from all her post sitting (counter pressure). Overall, she looks and acts miserable. She stood stock still for a minute, as if contemplating her situation, when I put her out this morning. She slowly meandered toward the water trough thereafter, only to wander back to the gate and stand there. I took the hint and decided to bring her back in. I have not yet changed her over to straw, but will be keeping a close eye on her milk calcium levels and will change her over as soon as there is movement there or, quite possibly, before.
